Summer Camp 2024 at Frost Science Museum

From astronomy and chemistry to marine biology and technology, there is something for everyone at Summer Camp at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science!

This award-winning program at the museum’s campus in Downtown Miami provides a rich, hands-on experience that makes learning fun. Taking place from Monday, June 10 through Friday, August 9, Frost Science’s Summer Camp is designed to spark a sense of curiosity and excitement in children ages 5-15 through different week-long camps themed around the amazing science featured at the museum.

Campers will get to explore interactive science exhibitions, meet the animals in the Aquarium, and journey through the universe in the state-of-the-art Frost Planetarium.

Frost Science’s Summer Camp also offers a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program for middle school students ages 12-15. They’ll gain leadership skills, learn about various science disciplines, and create a scientific resource or community action project under the guidance of a mentor. Visit today to register. Miami-Dade Parks' 2024 Summer Camps

Summertime is almost here, and registration for Miami-Dade Parks' 2024 Summer Camps opened on April 1!

This summer, get the kids (ages 6-14) away from the television and video games and treat them to fresh air, awesome outdoor activities, and the opportunity to make new friends and life-long memories, by enrolling them in one of the exciting Summer Camps offered by the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department, from June 10-August 2, 2024. Camps will be open Monday-Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There will be four, two-week sessions. Registration does not roll over from session to session, so parents must register their child for each two-week session they plan to attend. Sessions can either be purchased individually or at one time.

Session 1- June 10- June 21, 2024 (closed June 19, 2024)
Session 2- June 24-July 5, 2024 (closed July 4, 2024)
Session 3- July 8-July 19, 2024
Session 4- July 22- Aug 2, 2024

Each two-week session is $90. There is a one-time $15 registration fee per participant.

Play It Forward: Toys Now Available for Check Out at Main Library!

Fuel your child's development and imagination with the Miami-Dade Public Library System and Play It Forward South Florida's new toy collection!  

Library cardholders can explore a collection of toy kits designed to boost problem-solving, cognitive, and language skills in children through music and play. Parents and children can choose from building blocks, musical instruments, sensory-friendly toys, and much more. This innovative collection strives to make playtime accessible and enriching for all children throughout Miami-Dade County.

Toy kits are available at the Main Library. Each kit is curated with age-appropriate toys for children in three age groups: 2 years old and younger, 3 to 6 years old, and 7 to 9 years old. Toy kits can be borrowed for up to 30 days and can be conveniently returned to any library location.

Mini-Me Science

Mini-Me Science is a monthly program at Frost Science designed for you and your little one (ages two to five).

You’ll share experiences that engage the senses while promoting exploration and discovery through hands-on activities that are specifically designed for early learners.

All Mini-Me Science sessions are:
*Facilitated by science educators and includes all materials and supplies
*Occur on the first or second Wednesday of the month and the second Sunday of the month (depending on other museum events – please check the Calendar of Events for the latest dates).
*Last approximately 60 minutes, with a 30-minute hands-on activity followed by a 30-minute guided museum exploration *Cost is $25 per session
*Scheduled to begin promptly at 10:30 a.m.

Cost is per child. Children ages two to five only. Museum admission must be purchased separately to participate. Older siblings may participate for an additional registration fee per sibling. We recommend guests arrive 15 minutes prior to program start time. All sales are final. No refunds, returns, or exchanges.
